Please join us as we host Stanford Alumni Alex Tilson, founder and CEO, and Mark Scheeff, VP of R&D, for the first event in this year's great Tableside Chat series. Loma Vista Medical was a dynamic, innovative TAVR balloon start-up recently acquired by CR Bard in July of 2013. Alex and Mark will share their experiences and lessons learned in bringing a novel technology from concept to acquisition in a lean start-up environment. Policy Changes that Affect You
OBAMACARE BEGINS January 1st marked Day 1 of Obamacare. An estimated 2.1 million people are currently enrolled, below the administration's original target of 3 million. After a botched website rollout and a surprise change in plans for millions of current enrollees, problems continue to plague the landmark program. How exactly Obamacare will transform America's healthcare landscape is yet to be seen, but one thing is for sure -- the medtech industry will need to adapt to keep up with these changes. Read More.
CDRH LAUNCHES VOLUNTARY COMPLIANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
CDRH has announced an ongoing initiative to promote medical device quality called the Voluntary Compliance Improvement Program (VCIP) pilot. This is a program where manufacturers work with third-party expert consultants to analyze potential deficiencies in their quality system and improve them, while temporarily exempting them from routine FDA inspections and audits.
